D&SC (Disabled and Supportive Carer magazine) has a long history as a market leader in its field.

The launch goes back to 1988 when the magazine’s founder and his fiancée were involved in a car accident in the Scottish Highlands.

As a result of the accident – and the injuries his fiancée sustained – he realised the value of information to support independent living.

Back in those days services were not as accessible as they are now and the couple faced lots of difficulty in sourcing products and services – having to work quite hard to find practical information.

It led to the founder being inspired to launch a publication featuring resources and information for disabled people.

Since then the magazine has gone from strength to strength and it now has a print run of 10,000 each issue.

He emigrated to Australia in 1990 and the publication then became part of the portfolio owned by Euromedia Associates.

Although the name of the magazine has changed from a guide for handicapped people, to Disabled and Supportive Carer magazine, and now D&SC magazine – the aim to still to provide a wealth of practical information.

The magazine covers employment, holidays, days out and mobility aids. It is exhaustively researched and designed by our expert and experienced team.

Regular columnists discuss topical issues and each edition also includes a dedicated motoring section – Disability Motoring News, DMN.

Distributed four times a year to regular subscribers as well as NHS Trusts, Disabled Living Centres and doctors’ surgeries, D&SC magazine gives disabled people a voice, sharing experiences, news and information.
