Sirus Automotive, the pioneering wheelchair accessible vehicle conversion and adaptation specialist, is delighted to announce it has reached the significant milestone of 10 years in business.
Established in 2004 by long-term friends Simon Pearson and Russell Venvil, Wednesbury-based Sirus is the UK’s market leader in compact, drive-from-wheelchair and wheelchair passenger up-front vehicle solutions. Its first production model was the drive-from-wheelchair Renault Kangoo which became a hugely popular vehicle due to its lower price. This enabled many more people with disabilities to consider a drive-from-wheelchair solution than ever before. Since inception, the last 10 years have witnessed Sirus launch ten more vehicle conversion variations – all of which have been focused on delivering compact designs, fuel efficiency and easy, safe access for wheelchair drivers and up-front passengers. These have included the revolutionary Fita Qubo ‘Switch’ that allows a wheelchair user to swop between up front passenger and driver, along with other models such as the ‘i-Can’ and an Approved Used range. Managing Director Simon Person commented: “We established Sirus to design and manufacture innovative, high quality accessible vehicles that were supported by exceptional after sales care and three year warranties. Our award-winning solutions provide wheelchair users both freedom and independence, whether driving or travelling up front as a passenger. Delivering maximum flexibility and choice has always been a key focus for us and will never falter. Sirus is unique in the fact that its product design offers flawless ‘from factory’ finish, all backed up by specialist engineers who can operate either in our workshop or at a customer’s home. We are truly customer centric and we firmly believe our success over the last decade is testament to this ethos. I would like to thank every member of the 60-strong Sirus team for their consistent commitment to quality and attention to detail – without this level of dedication our achievements since 1994 would never have been possible. I do hope as many new customers as possible can benefit from the special promotion we are offering to celebrate our birthday.” To celebrate a decade in business, Sirus is offering a unique promotion to all new customers. This added value deal includes a complimentary £300 fuel card, £500 towards the first year of comprehensive insurance and an annual subscription to DMUK magazine. Once again this offer reflects why Sirus customers are so satisfied such as Mrs Harbourne from Sutton Coldfield: “The Sirus service is excellent. After several years of relying on other people to drive me around, my Sirus car has given me back my confidence and freedom. My car has also allowed me to independently continue with my hobbies and voluntary work. What a liberating experience and something I never thought possible before discovering my Sirus car! In addition to its day-to-day commercial activities, Sirus has achieved several manufacturing and business accolades over the past ten years, including the prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise. The business takes its corporate social responsibilities seriously and is a pro-active supporter of many charities including the MS Society and also fundraises for wheelchair football programmes across the Midlands. Simon concludes: “We see wheelchair passenger up front solutions as the future. We know from customer feedback that wheelchair users would much rather travel up front, as opposed to being isolated in the rear. Up until now there has been a huge price difference between travelling in the front and the back - our aim is to make up front travel a more affordable option without compromising on quality or service.” |
